[WATCH] Kruger National Park lion escapes

The Kruger National Park have
confirmed that one of its lions have escaped.
The lion was spotted by a motorist on the N4 in between Komatipoort and Hectorspruit in Mpumalanga on Sunday.

SANParks spokesperson Isaac Phaahla says they have notified the relevant authorities.
"The details around that early this morning around 5:30 am a lion was spotted on the N4 in the Malelane area. We have notified our colleagues from the Mpumalanga parks and tourism department."
Phaahla added the N4 road in the Malelane area has been closed to traffic.
"The road is closed as we speak while the rangers are searching for the lion we as that motorists use alternatives route.
"The rangers are from the Mpumalanga parks and tourism department as well as SANParks. The rangers know exactly where the lion is and in that region where the road is closed that where they hope to dart the lion and take it back to the Kruger National Park."
