Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana will table the 2026 budget in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Godongwana is expected to outline the government’s financial, economic and social commitments for 2026 when he addresses the National Assembly in Cape Town.
There will be keen interest in any increases in personal income tax, corporate tax or value-added tax in the run-up to the local government elections
During his recent State of the Nation Address, President Cyril Ramaphosa pledged to strengthen healthcare, improve infrastructure and accelerate service delivery.
Godongwana is expected to flesh out these commitments while maintaining fiscal discipline.
