Mahomed has been held captive in Syria since April 2017, after he was captured near the border with Turkey.

He was taking photos of Syrian people, but accused of being a foreign spy.

Mohamed can be seen in the video, being handcuffed and his face covered before his beard is shaved.

"My life is still in danger; I have been in captivity for almost three years now. I need your help, please. Dr Fekri Shabaan these people are very angry with the way you are speaking with them, the way you are doing the negotiations," says Mohamed in the video.

Dr Fekri Shabaan is the new negotiator after the family opted to add him on to the team.

This led to Gift of the Giver withdrawing from the process.

In a statement, the organisation says it is "dangerous action for the hostage if more than one party is involved in the negotiation for the same hostage at the same time.

"We certainly don't want to put Shiraaz into unnecessary risk."

Earlier this year, his abductors sent a "proof of life" video where he was pleading for help.

They demand a ransom of 1.5 million USD for Mohamed's release.
