[WATCH] Sibongile Khumalo awarded Honorary Doctorate
The late Sibongile Khumalo has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Music posthumously by the University of the Witwatersrand.
The doctorate was conferred on Wednesday, where Ayanda, daughter of South Africa’s first lady of song, accepted the award on her behalf.
“The family is humbled and filled with gratitude and pride at the honour of receiving this award on behalf of our mother, Dr Sibongile Khumalo.

“Sadly she never got to experience this moment physically, but I know that she is with us in spirit.
Sibongile's death sent shockwaves across the country when she passed away in January after suffering stroke related complications.
