WATCH: Students reach Union Buildings in Pretoria
Updated | By ANA / JacaNews
Student protestors chanted “Zuma must fall” and “Blade must fall” on Friday morning, as some ten thousand thronged to the Union Buildings in Pretoria where their leaders would meet with President Jacob Zuma to convey that there should be no increase in tuition fees in 2016.
The shouts grew louder as they entered the grounds of the Union Buildings, most of them running, while a police helicopter hovered overhead. There was a heavy police presence.
Earlier, residents in apartment buildings along the route shouted “fees must fall” in support of the students and the countrywide protest.
In Johannesburg, hundreds of students from Wits and the University of Johannesburg boarded buses to join the protest in Pretoria. - ANA
