WATCH | Three arrested for murder in Welkom mall parking lot
Three suspects have been arrested and are expected to appear
in a Welkom court on Friday, following the killing of a man while he was
sitting in his car in a shopping mall parking lot.
The video of the cold-blooded killing has been circulating on social media and shows how Shai Mohapi was shot and killed in his vehicle during what appears to be a hijacking in the parking lot of the Commando shopping mall in the Free State town on Saturday.
The three face charges of murder and being in possession of an illegal firearm.
Free State provincial police commissioner, Moketsi Sempe, told OFM News that the suspects are Lesotho citizens.
He also says the revolver has been confiscated.
Sempe says they expect to make more arrests, while the motive for the killing has not yet been determined.
