Truck loses trailer, crashes in Queensburgh
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Video footage of a truck crash, in the south of Durban, has left thousands in shock after it surfaced online.
The clip shows the vehicle coming down Piet Retief Road in Queensburgh at high speed.
The trailer detaches itself from the truck, flips over and smashes into a tree, sending the cab of the truck hurtling in another direction, with the driver still inside.
Rescue Care spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson says the driver escaped with minor injuries after yesterday's crash.
"Medics assessed him on scene and stabilised him before transporting him to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required. No other vehicles were involved fortunately, as it was seen and witnessed that the truck came around the corner and [the driver] lost control before the trailer overturned and then the truck went across the road," said Jamieson.
He said, "SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating the cause of the collision further."
