[WATCH] Two trucks torched in NW
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Police are investigating a case of malicious damage to property after two trucks were set alight in Lichtenburg on Tuesday morning.
North West police spokesperson Aafje Botma says truck drivers saw rocks on the road and four suspects walking towards them.
"The first truck drivers tried to stop to make a U-Turn but the truck jack-knifed and the truck behind him also. Allegedly these four suspects set these trucks alight. The drivers of the truck got out of the truck and ran away to contact the police.
"The police went to scene as well as the fire department."
Botma says no arrests have been made and reiterates the motive is not linked to any protest action in the area.
