Water outage set for Wednesday in Hammanskraal
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The City of Tshwane has warned residents in Hammanskraal to expect a possible water outage on Wednesday.

This is due to maintenance work that is expected to last for 10 hours, from 7 am to 5 pm.
The shutdown of the Temba Water Purification Plant is to allow technicians to clean Temba Reservoir Number 3.
The following areas might experience water supply interruption: Dilopye, Hammanskraal West, Kanana, Lephengville, Majaneng, Renstown, Sekampaneng, Suurman, Manyeleti, Unit 5, 7 and Unit D
Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said reservoirs within the plant will be filled prior to the shutdown.
"The city sincerely apologises for the inconvenience that may be encountered as a result of this planned maintenance. Therefore, consumers are requested to use water sparingly during this time to prevent the other storage facilities from running dry."
Meanwhile, the City of Tshwane is bracing itself for another water outage from 29 May to 3 June due to Rand Water's planned infrastructure maintenance at Mapleton and Palmiet Booster Pumping Stations.
The planned maintenance work involves connecting the newly constructed B16 pipeline to Engine Room 3 at the Mapleton Booster Pumping Station.
The pipeline will be supplying water from the new Station 5 at the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant.
