Water restriction warning for parts of Joburg
Updated | By Laila Majiet
Thousands of Johannesburg residents face severe water restrictions starting tonight.

Johannesburg Water will be closing outlet valves at a number of reservoirs to cut down water consumption.
Spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene says Johannesburg Water will be restricting supply in areas around Deep South, Soweto, Midrand, Sandton, Randburg and Central.
"This is prompted by a need to curb water usage on some of our reservoir sites that are experiencing high consumption."
She maintains the water supply will not be completely shut off.
"We will reduce the water pressure every evening between 20:00 and 04:00 until further notice. During this time, residents are likely to experience very little pressure or no supply at all."
Similar measures had been implemented in Lenasia with the water supply stabilising in that area since.
Level two restrictions are in place in Johannesburg.
This means residents are not allowed to water their gardens during the day or wash cars using a hosepipe.
