‘We have to fight for honest leaders’ - Ramaphosa pays tribute to Andrew Mlangeni

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the death of struggle stalwart Andrew Mlangeni marks the start of a new era that must seek to emulate his leadership.
Ramaphosa delivered the eulogy at Mlangeni’s funeral service at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus on Wednesday.
"We have no choice but to fight. To fight for equality and justice, for water, electricity, and food in every home. We must fight for land to farm, and factories to run, for quality healthcare, decent education, peace, and safety,” Ramaphosa said.

"We have to fight for honest, committed, and capable leaders, for democratic institutions that are strong and durable, for equality between men and women, for the rule of law and the realisation of equal rights for all. For it is then, when we are engaged in this struggle, that we will pay our beloved father, leader, friend, and comrade, the greatest tribute.”
Ramaphosa said Covid-19 has exposed the many manifestations of inequality and injustice, something which should provoke all South Africans into action.
