Winnie Mandela Museum: Fraud-accused Free State HOD released on bail

The head of the Education Department in the Free State and four others were arrested by the Hawks for fraud and theft.
Humprey Malakoane (56), who is also the former HOD of Sports, Arts and Culture, appeared in the Welkom Magistrate's Court on Wednesday on charges related to the Winnie Mandela Museum.
The accused allegedly squandered and stole over R700 000 meant to build the museum in Winnie Mandela town, formerly known as Brandfort, between 2008 and 2012.
Hawks provincial spokesperson Christopher Singo says the unit is hunting for more suspects linked to the crime.
The five accused have been released on bail ranging from R3000 to R20 000 and is set to re-appear at the same court on 11 November.
