Pig farm murders: State witness tells court Limpopo farm owner ‘aimed at’ suspected trespassers

State witness Rudolph de Wet told the Polokwane High Court on Thursday that murder accused Zachariah Olivier handed him a gun and told him to aim in the direction of suspected trespassers on his farm.
Limpopo farm owner Olivier and his employee, Zimbabwean national William Musora, are accused of murdering Maria Makgato and Lucia Ndlovu on the Onverwaght farm in Sebayeng in August last year, and throwing their bodies into a pigsty.
Makgato (45) and Ndlovu (35) were shot and killed while collecting expired food at the farm outside Polokwane.
De Wet, who has turned state witness, told the court that Olivier also fired shots in the direction of the victims.
State prosecutor Advocate George Sekhukhune led De Wet in his testimony on Thursday.
“How many shots did you fire?” asked Sekhukhune.
“Maybe two or three,” responded De Wet.
“In which direction? On the left side? Is it in the direction people were coming from?
“Yeah, they were coming from the left side,” De Wet responded.
“And how many shots did accused number one fire? Three or four?” asked Sekhukhune.
Olivier and his employee, Zimbabwean national William Musora, are accused of killing Maria Makgato and Lucia Ndlovu and throwing their bodies into a pigsty.
Ndlovu's husband, Mabutho Ncube, who was with them at the time, was also shot but survived the incident.
Olivier and Musora already pleaded not guilty to murder charges, while De Wet’s charges remain provisionally withdrawn in accordance with section 204.
