Woman’s body found in Welkom dam, boyfriend arrested

Free State police have arrested a 30-year-old man for the murder of a 31-year-old woman whose body was found floating in a dam in Lindley, near Welkom on Tuesday.

Thandi Paulina Dhlamini of Ntha township, Lindley went missing on 23 October.
Police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele says they have arrested the boyfriend and he will be charged with murder.
“It was discovered that her body was wrapped with a blanket, stones inside blanket together with the wire. It is suspected that she was thrown in the dam. She sustained bruises on her body.
“Police made a breakthrough on their questioning of the suspect who was later arrested at Monontsha Village, Qwa Qwa."
