Zuma: Nobody is chasing the Afrikaners away
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile

He on Thursday during his reply to the State of the Nation Address debate, said “nobody is chasing the Afrikaners away”.
“How can you say, we said to the Afrikaners they must go? I just said the problem began when Jan Van Riebeeck came here. That is not saying we don’t want the Afrikaners,” he said.
Zuma was referring to a statement he made during an ANC fundraiser where he told guests that “all problems began” in 1952 Jan Van Reinbeck landed in the Cape.
The South African Human Rights Commission said it is investigating complaints of hate speech regarding the statement.
Freedom Front Plus laid a complaint with the HRC last month saying the statement amounted to hate speech.
Zuma in his Sona reply, said nobody will chase white people away from South Africa.
