Zuma's removal could have dire consequence: Mantashe
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe says the opposition parties' vote of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma is really aimed at dislodging the party from power.

Briefing the media on a heated meeting of the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting over the weekend, Mantashe says no ANC member is allowed to collaborate with the opposition.
"In the case of the opposition forces, the message is clear that the intention is to dislodge the ANC from power. They say themselves that it is not only about President Zuma, it's about the ANC," says Mantashe.

The meeting included a debate on the recall of President Zuma.
Mantashe says the party must be wary, since the president's removal could have dire consequences for the ANC.
"We are not accusing veterans of collaborating with those forces, but we are saying the outcome of the efforts can converge on the consequences."
