It's not often one sees a random smile, now Legos aren't all smiles these days. Infact Legos seem very angry. A study shows that Lego characters released since the early '90s are more angry. The study suggets that the spike in negativity could be related to the release of more thematic Lego sets. During the study 3,655 Lego characters were analyised, 264 adults were asked to characterise the figures' according to expressions such as, angry, happy, sad, disgusted, surprised or fearful.
What researchers found could turn your smile upside down! Since the early '90s there has been proportional growth of angry faces. Children who play with Legos today are forced to play happy games with angry toys!
But before you confiscate your kids' Lego, think of the good that even angry Lego can do. Look at it like this, Angry Legos mimick reality, experts have suggested that conflict-driven games help kids grapple with issues like “the struggle between good and evil,”.
Will this make them upstanding citizens of the country? That's the true question, and only time will tell!
Till then, we can indulge in Legos and movies about Legos!
