Duane Vermeulen to leave Bulls for Ulster
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The Bulls have confirmed the departure of captain and Springbok loose-forward Duane Vermeulen.
The 35-year-old will be joining Irish team Ulster Rugby.
Vermeulen, who only joined the Bulls in 2020, had an immediate impact as he led the side to the Currie Cup title.
He was also instrumental in the journey to the final of the 2020/21 United Rugby Championship.
Vermeulen will officially join Ulster Rugby at the conclusion of the end-year Test matches.
“We are sad to see Duane leaving the Vodacom Bulls,” said Bulls director of rugby, Jake White.
“He has been a key figure in our setup since his arrival in 2020 and his influence, both on and off the field, has been immense.”
