Food poisoning floors SA A

FOLLOWING a bout of food poisoning that has troubled the SA ‘A’ team in India over the last two days, the BCCI have agreed to re-schedule matches in the Paytm ‘A’ tri-series in order to give the SA ‘A’ team more recovery time.

The SA A team was scheduled to play Australia ‘A’ tomorrow, but this match has now been rescheduled for 12 August 2015. The SA ‘A’ team will then face India ‘A’ on the 13th and if they win both these matches, will take on Australia ‘A’ in the final on 14 August 2015.

Yesterday, at least seven players had to be hospitalized at various times suffering from a terrible bout of food poisoning. All players have since been discharged from hospital and are back at their hotel in Chennai in various stages of recovery.

“We are grateful to the BCCI for allowing us the extra day for our players to recover,” said CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat.

“We wish our players a speedy recovery and best of luck for the rest of the tour,” concluded Mr. Lorgat.
