A WhatsApp voice note was shared in multiple groups on social media. In it, an unnamed man claims the government will ban the sale of alcohol again.

The person heard on the voice note claims that the President will close bottle stores due to the drunk driving accidents.

Although government assured South Africans that President Cyril Ramaphosa will not address the nation, people did not take any chances!

South Africans seemed to remember the last time the ban was reinstated with immediate effect.

Martin Bester and Elma Smit received the voice note, but Liesl Laurie did not! She’s in luck because it turns out the voice note was fake.

However, South Africans went out in their numbers to stock up.
