13 Joburg suburbs to be without power

About 13 Johannesburg suburbs will be affected by a planned power outage.

City Power Johannesburg has warned residents about planned power outages that will affect approximately 13 suburbs in the city.

These power outages will last for eight hours, and residents are urged to plan accordingly.

Both the Morningside Substation and the Gresswold Substation will be affected, which is why so many suburbs are included.

According to City Power, the power outages will be in effect on Monday, 1 December, and Tuesday, 2 December.

The planned outage is necessary to carry out maintenance work on the electricity network.

Areas affected by the planned outages

Power outages will be implemented at the Morningside Substation on Monday, 1 December, from 08:00 to 16:00.

The following suburbs will be affected:

  • Duxberry
  • River Club
  • River Club Ext. 1 and 9
  • Bryanston
  • Morningside Ext. 7
  • Morningside Ext. 79

On Tuesday, 2 December, the Gresswold Substation will experience a power outage from 09:00 to 17:00.

  • Kew West
  • Pretoria Main
  • Alexandra Clinic
  • Kew (between 9th Road and London Road)
  • Bramley
  • Wynberg
  • Bramley Park
