'Baby Shark' boy returns as K-pop singer

The star of the iconic 'Baby Shark' is back!

He started out as the star of the world’s most-viewed YouTube video to date, and now Park Geonroung is reviving his career as a K-pop singer.

Geonroung appeared in the ‘Baby Shark Dance’ video in 2016.

With more than 17 billion views, it remains the most-viewed video in YouTube history.

Now, a decade after appearing in the global hit, Geonroung has made his K-pop debut with his first single, ‘Wave’.

‘Wave’ was released on Thursday, 20 August, with the new K-pop singer being credited as Baby Shark Boy.

According to The Guardian, it was also released with the support of Pinkfong Company, the company behind ‘Baby Shark’.

“Ten years ago, I was dancing next to Baby Shark,” he told The Guardian.

“Now, I want to share my own voice and the stories I’ve written myself.”
