Follow-home gang targeting luxury watches busted in Centurion
A ‘Rolex gang’ that follows people home in pursuit of luxury watches has been busted in Centurion.
Two men believed to be part of a notorious follow-home robbery crew are in custody after a high-speed pursuit through Centurion ended in the veld.
The suspects, who allegedly target owners of luxury watches, were intercepted by police, who found a Hyundai Accent loaded with housebreaking equipment, false number plates and illegal weapons.

Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee reported on the incident, saying that the bust followed a tip-off police received about suspects involved in several robberies across Johannesburg.

“The information mentioned that the suspects are armed and utilising a Hyundai Accent to commit the crimes.
“The team deployed, on the lookout for the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle was spotted travelling in Centurion, affixed with false registration plates. It was established that the suspects were following an unsuspecting family they planned to rob.”
When officers moved in to stop the vehicle, the suspects attempted a desperate getaway.
“The suspects immediately sped away at high speed. The chase ended when the suspects drove into a veld.”

Inside the car, police found a variety of incriminating evidence.
“Two unlicensed firearms and ammunition were seized. Among the exhibits found were multiple types of ammunition inside the vehicle.”
“All the necessary role players attended to the scene, and it was processed accordingly.”
Authorities have already linked the pair and their vehicle to multiple home invasions and armed robberies.
The investigation is ongoing.
