The 2025 matric results are out. Here are all the ways you can access them.
Minister of Basic Education Siviwe Gwarube announced the NSC exam results on Monday, 12 January, during a ministerial breakfast in Johannesburg.
According to Jacaranda FM News, Gwarube praised the pupils for their resilience while acknowledging the role of parents, guardians, and teachers in helping them reach this milestone.
"Today, we celebrate not just the summit our top achievers reached, but the pursuit of excellence that brought them here," the minister said.

"Behind every high-achieving learner is a home that made sacrifices. A home that chose discipline over comfort and encouragement over despair.
"You carried emotional, financial, and psychological weight so that your children could focus on learning. Your love, structure, and consistency formed the foundation upon which these learners’ achievements stand."
On Tuesday, 13 January, the results were released to the general public, and the class of 2025 could finally access their matric results.
Here's how to access your 2025 matric results:
Collect results from your school or institution
Learners can obtain their results directly from the school or institution where they wrote their exams.
Please note that results are usually only available after 12:00 PM on the official release day.
Access results via the Department of Basic Education website
Learners may also view their results online by logging into the Department of Basic Education's website.
To register, candidates must complete a two-step verification process by entering their 13-digit ID number and examination number before confirmation is granted.
Check results on online news platforms
Several online news websites will publish matric results, including News24’s dedicated Matric Results page.
Receive results via SMS
Candidates can SMS their 13-digit ID number and examination number to 35658 to receive their results.

Use the USSD service
Alternatively, dial 12035658# on your mobile phone and follow the prompts to access your results from 13 January.
View results in newspapers
Most major South African daily newspapers will publish the matric results as soon as they are officially released.
According to Business Tech, students who wrote with the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) will also be able to acquire their results via the IEB's website.
