First-ever gay man named People's Sexiest Man Alive
The actor has made history as the first openly gay man to be named People's Sexiest Man Alive.
'Wicked' actor Jonathan Bailey was named People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2025 on Monday, 3 November, during a segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
For the past 40 years, since 1985, People magazine has been naming the Sexiest Man Alive, and now, for the first time since its inception, the title has gone to an openly gay man.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise that Bailey would be named the Sexiest Man Alive.
The public has been swooning over the actor for the past couple of years, and as his fame has grown exponentially, so too has the number of people taking notice of his charming good looks.
"It's a huge honour. Obviously, I'm incredibly flattered. And it's completely absurd. It's been a secret, so I'm quite excited for some friends and family to find out," said the 32-year-old actor.
When asked if he had told anyone, Bailey replied: "I told my dog Benson. But no, I haven’t. How do you spell… NDA?"
Bailey was raised in rural Oxfordshire, England.
He and his three sisters were raised by their mother, Carole, and father, Stuart.

The English actor shot to fame for his role as Lord Anthony on the hit Netflix show Bridgerton.
He also earned an Emmy nomination for his role as a closeted congressional staffer in the Showtime series Fellow Travelers.
Since then, Bailey has featured in blockbuster films 'Wicked' and 'Jurassic World: Rebirth.'
