Ford Ranger crashes into resident's pool in Mbombela

A white Ford Ranger crashed through a wall before ending up in a resident's swimming pool.

A Mbombela resident was left in shock after a Ford Ranger bakkie ploughed through their wall and landed in their pool at their home.

According to Lowvelder security companies were alerted about a motorist driving recklessly in the West End on the evening of 4 September.

Just before 8:00 pm, a white Ford Ranger crashed into the residence of Kyle Scott, which he was renting.

It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle was drunk at the time of the incident.

"We were sitting in our backyard when a vehicle crashed through the wall into our pool," Scott told Lowvelder.

Scott and his wife were left in shock but still managed to quickly alert emergency services after the bakkie ended up in their pool at their home in Aurora Street, Enterprise, Steiltes.

When emergency services arrived, it was confirmed that only the driver sustained minor injuries.

Lowvelder also reported that a second vehicle was allegedly involved in the incident.

Witnesses say the Ford driver crashed into a Mercedes-Benz before losing control of his vehicle and ending up in the pool.

More information about the driver has not yet been revealed.
