Who can forget the now-iconic BlackBerry phones that took over the world in the late 2000s and early 2010s?
Phones like the BlackBerry Curve and Bold quickly entered the mainstream, becoming the go-to devices around the world.
Unfortunately, it felt like the phones disappeared in the blink of an eye and were quickly replaced by other brands.

Over the years, BlackBerry has still popped up here and there and occasionally made its way back into conversations.
Just think about how long Kim Kardashian held on to her BlackBerry, even after it was no longer the “it” phone.
Now the iconic device is making headlines again after South African-born superstar Tyla was spotted with one.

South Africa’s favourite global star, Tyla, made sure all eyes were on her at the Jean-Paul Gaultier Fall 2026 show on March 8.
The 'CHANEL' singer took to the red carpet, paying tribute to Gaultier’s legendary cone bra, famously worn by Madonna.
Tyla stepped out in a black corset dress, complete with that signature retro cone bustier.

Her stylist, Ron Hartleben, kept the accessories classy, opting for Christian Louboutin pointed-toe pumps, a white lace choker and a delicate beaded ankle bracelet.
But it wasn’t just the outfit making a statement.
Outside the venue, Tyla was seen taking photos on a classic BlackBerry phone. It’s a clear nod to the retro tech trend that’s currently taking over the red carpet.
