A major company has fired employees over WhatsApp group messages
A big company has fired ten employees for bad-mouthing the company in a WhatsApp group during the national lockdown.
The workers feel that they were unfairly dismissed and want compensation.
Was this a violation of their privacy?
Martin Bester spoke to lawyer Megan Harrington-Johnson about the situation.
“How careful should we be when talking about the company you work for?” Martin Bester asked.

Harrington-Johnson’s advice is to be careful, especially when there’s multiple people in the chat (group). There might just be someone who could be a whistleblower.
