'Definitely South African': Man found sleeping in stranger's bakkie after UFC match
A stranger was found sleeping in the back of a bakkie after a UFC match, and many people pointed out that he appeared to be South African.
It was clearly a big night for everyone following Dricus du Plessis’ victory over Kamaru Usman.
Two brothers in Edmond, Oklahoma, made an unexpected discovery after arriving home from UFC Fight Night on Saturday, 18 July.
Home security footage captured the moment the two brothers discovered a man sleeping in the back of their truck as they arrived home from the fight, the same event at which South Africa’s Dricus du Plessis defeated Kamaru Usman.
The now-viral video, posted by Jaden Huck, shows her fiancé, Andrew, and his brother, Lance, pulling into the driveway.
As they get out of the vehicle, the man wakes up in the back of the truck and puts his hat back on his head.
The comment section of the post was flooded with people pointing out the man’s clothing.
Upon closer inspection, he appears to be wearing a South African supporter’s jersey. His accent also led many viewers to believe that he was South African.
“He is definitely South African. THANK YOU KINDLY,” commented one user.
“My husband met him at the fights!! He’s South African,” claimed another user.
“That’s a South African jersey! He’s definitely South African,” said another.

“Hey Andrew, you got a stray! You got someone in the bed of your truck,” Lance exclaimed.
After checking whether the man was all right, both brothers burst into laughter.
“You didn’t want to knock on the window or nothing?” Andrew asked.
“No, I’m good,” the stranger replied.
Andrew eventually opened the tailgate to let the man climb out.
“You’re all the way in Edmond, Oklahoma!” Lance joked.
“Thank you kindly,” the man replied.
“Not a problem, man,” Andrew said.
In a follow-up post, Huck confirmed that the unknown man had made it home safely.
“His buddy came to get him shortly after. Also yes, we did get him some water and a lawn chair."
