Midrand man wins brand-new KIA Sonet SUV on KIA or The Cash
One lucky listener finally drove away with a brand-new KIA Sonet SUV.
After three weeks of asking listeners one simple question, the KIA or The Cash competition on Breakfast with Martin Bester finally made its grand prize winner on Monday, 2 March.
This February, Jacaranda FM, Breakfast with Martin Bester, and KIA turned up the feel-good with KIA or The Cash.
We gave listeners the chance to walk away with cold, hard cash or drive off in a bold, stylish KIA Sonet SUV worth R289,995.

Every day for three weeks, we hid something in the boot of a KIA Sonet SUV and, from 07:00 to 19:00, across Jacaranda FM and our social media pages, we dropped clues revealing what was hiding in the boot of a brand-new KIA Sonet.
Listeners who thought they knew the answer had to WhatsApp "KIA", their name, and their guess to 084 850 0942.
Then every morning at 07:00, Breakfast with Martin Bester would call out one lucky person’s name. That listener then had to call us back, give the correct answer and choose the KIA or The Cash.
The Grand Finale
Throughout the three weeks, listeners who successfully came through to Breakfast with Martin Bester and had the correct answer got to choose between cash or the chance to win the new vehicle.
Finally, on Monday, 2 March, we were able to invite eight finalists to join us at the Jacaranda FM studios, where we crowned our winner.

After two elimination rounds, conducted with the help of an auditor, we had a top three.
It was finally time to see who would win the car.
The three finalists each got to choose a golden egg that had a KIA car key inside. One of these keys would open the KIA Sonet SUV at the Jacaranda FM office and the other two were duds.

After spinning a wheel to see which finalist would choose their egg first, Jerome Govender was selected to go first.
It turned out that he had chosen the egg with the winning car key.
Govender opened his egg to see if his key would open the car and, on the first attempt, the vehicle unlocked.
