OnlyFans owner Leonid Radvinsky has passed away at 43.
The man behind the platform that transformed the adult entertainment industry, Leonid Radvinsky, has died. He was 43.
OnlyFans confirmed the news in a statement, noting that the billionaire "passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer".
The company has requested privacy for his family during this time.
Radvinsky was born in Ukraine and raised in Chicago. He was a Northwestern University economics graduate who lived in Florida.

He bought OnlyFans in 2018 from its original UK-based founders.
While the site was founded in 2016, it was the Covid-19 pandemic that drove its growth in popularity.
Just three years after taking over, Radvinsky’s success landed him on the Forbes annual billionaires list.
Today, Forbes estimates his net worth at $4.7 billion (approximately R87 billion).
OnlyFans
OnlyFans functions as a social media hub where creators post photos and videos, earning money through monthly subscriptions, tips, and pay-per-view content.
While the platform hosts everything from fitness experts to chefs, it is most famous for its adult content and the direct connection it offers fans through livestreams and personalised messaging.
According to the BBC, OnlyFans takes a 20% cut of all payments.
According to the latest Companies House filings, the platform is a massive earner. In 2024, it saw:
- $1.4 billion (approximately R26 billion) in revenue.
- £1.04 billion (approximately R24.4 billion) in revenue equivalent.
- Over £7 billion (approximately R164.5 billion) in total transactions.
- More than 377 million subscribers.
- About 4.6 million creators.
Legal challenges
The platform's rapid growth under Radvinsky did not come without challenges. Regulators and lawmakers have kept a close eye on its adult content.
In 2024, UK regulator Ofcom investigated whether minors were accessing the site, a situation the company attributed to a technical glitch. While Ofcom eventually dropped the probe, it fined the firm approximately £1 million (about R23.5 million).
This was due to the company failing to provide accurate information regarding its age verification measures for users, who are required to be 18 or older.

The company has also faced legal pressure from users who felt misled by the site’s chat features.
Some subscribers claimed they believed they were messaging creators directly, only to find out the chats were being managed by low-paid third parties. To date, these legal challenges have not been successful in court.
Beyond OnlyFans, Radvinsky was an active player in the tech world.
He managed his investments through Leo.com, a venture capital firm based in Florida.
Interestingly, reports from last year suggest he had also been exploring a potential sale of OnlyFans.
On the personal side, his website highlights his philanthropic work, which included supporting the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center through various donations.
