'Party Rock Anthem' singer dies at 36
The sad news was recently shared in a statement online.
British singer Lauren Bennett, who was one of the voices behind the iconic song ‘Party Rock Anthem’, has died at the age of 36.
LMFAO’s 2011 song, featuring Bennett, was a global hit and is still considered one of the biggest songs of the 2010s.
On Monday, 6 July, the singer’s former girl group, G.R.L., shared a statement on Instagram announcing the death of the 36-year-old.
"It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren," the statement said.
"Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us."
"We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us."
"Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved."
According to the BBC, the cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Coroner records show that the singer died in Meopham, Kent, on 29 May.
Bennett can also be seen in the ‘Party Rock Anthem’ music video, which has more than 2.5 billion views on YouTube.
The singer joined pop group G.R.L. in 2014 alongside Paula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton, Simone Battle and Emmalyn Estrada.
Their biggest song was the 2014 hit ‘Ugly Heart’.
According to the BBC, the group disbanded in 2015 after Simone Battle died by suicide in September 2014.
