You've probably seen them on social media spreading kindness, humour, and excitement across South Africa, whether by asking random strangers the most relatable questions or even just handing out wads of cash.

The Boys South Africa has taken social media by storm, creating engaging, relatable, and most importantly, truly South African content that has often gone viral.

Unfortunately, the online community has been saddened by the news that one half of the viral duo has passed away.

In a post on social media, Matthew Parry announced the death of his little brother and partner in crime, Joey Parry.

"This is the hardest thing I've ever had to write. To Joey. My little brother. Best friend. World. The person I've spent every day with over the past ten years. I'll miss you forever, in all the moments big and small," Matthew wrote on The Boys South Africa's Instagram page, along with pictures of his little brother.

In the post, Matthew recalled the moment he found his brother sleeping peacefully in his bed:

"Finding you, sleeping peacefully in your bed, was the hardest thing I’ll ever have to see. Just know that I tried my best to save you."

By the looks of things, the content creator and older brother of Joey will continue with the legacy the two brothers built together.

"I know you'd want me to continue your legacy. Not stop. Not sit still. Make people smile. Make things," Parry wrote.

He went on to thank supporters: "But for now I just want to say thank you to everyone who's shown Joey love over these past few days and years, in big and little ways—helped him in any way, made him smile, laugh, grow. Thank you to everyone that's reached out to me and my family, offered love, a shoulder to cry on, kind words, even a hug. It means more than words can explain."

Needless to say, the comment section was flooded with tributes and condolences from fans and other content creators.

"I am so heartbroken for you. A real legend. So, so sorry this happened," wrote another popular content creator, @coolstorybru_za.

At this stage, no cause of death has been confirmed
