Job interviews can be nerve-wracking experiences, often filled with the most predictable and often dumb questions.

Speaking to comedian and content creator Sami Hall on Breakfast with Martin Bester, the conversation turned to the stupid questions asked during work interviews.

In a video posted on social media, Hall highlighted one of these questions: "Why do you want to work here?"

She pointed out how ridiculous this is, since the answer they are looking for is never the real one. As she put it: "Being able to pay your bills is much nicer than not being able to pay your bills."

Martin Bester also added: "Why should we hire you?" to the list of dumb questions.

Another question Hall mentioned is when they ask you to "tell us more about yourself" right after you have provided a CV that already lists everything important they need to know.

"Normal" jobs

In addition to discussing job interview faux pas, the team reminisced about their own experiences in "normal" jobs before their radio careers.

Hall described the emotional rollercoaster of working in telesales, saying: "I cried every day, the whole day."
