The City of Tshwane's "Black Friday Bonanza" is back, giving residents the opportunity to reduce their outstanding municipal debt.

Residents and businesses can enjoy 100% off interest charges on their outstanding bills between 1 and 30 November 2025.

"That's right, no interest, no penalties, just relief! Now that’s a #BlackFriday special you can't afford to miss," the city said.

The initiative forms part of the city's ongoing efforts to encourage residents to settle their outstanding accounts.

To take part in the special, residents and businesses can visit their nearest municipal office or email [email protected] or [email protected].

Tshwane's Black Friday special is part of a larger operation by the city to recover millions of rand owed by residents and businesses in unpaid bills.

City Mayor Nasiphi Moya said the city had already recovered just under R40 million for the month of November.

Moya added that the city had made further arrangements with 131 accounts to collect an additional R8.7 million.

In October, the city reportedly managed to recover a staggering R4 billion.

"We are determined to increase the city's revenue collection, particularly following an upbeat performance in October," said Moya.
