Two Olympians tie for gold medal for first time in over 100 years
This was one of the most beautiful moments at the Olympics!
Qatar's Mutaz Essa Barshim and Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi both took home gold medals from the same event.
This almost never happens. Both athletes jumped a height of 2.37 meters. The athletes from Qatar and Italy were offered a ‘jump off’, but in a turn of events and brilliant sportsmanship, agreed to share the gold medal.

Does this happen frequently at the Olympics? It was the first time since 1912!
Qatar’s Barshim asked an official: "Can we have two golds?" This led to huge celebrations for the two athletes and their countries!

The official is there talking about a prospective jump-off, but Barshim asks immediately: "Can we have two golds?"
