The vehicle drove into the petrol station’s shop.
A quiet Saturday afternoon in Pretoria East took a dramatic turn when a vehicle crashed into the BP Glenfair petrol station shop on Lynnwood Road.
According to Rekord, the incident took place at approximately 17:15.
Craig Ruane, the managing dealer at the station, confirmed that the specific details leading up to the accident are still under investigation.

“We are not 100% sure what happened or what caused the vehicle to crash into the shop,” Ruane said.
Early indications suggest the motorist had been at the fuel pumps before the crash.
“From what we understand, the driver had initially been outside near the fuel pumps, apparently inflating his tyres, and then drove forward from the forecourt straight into the store. However, the exact cause is still unknown,” Ruane explained.
Emergency responders and police arrived at the scene shortly after the impact. The driver, who was the only person in the car, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
While the building suffered significant structural damage, those inside the shop at the time escaped unharmed.
“Fortunately, there were no injuries to any customers or staff members. However, the impact caused extensive damage to the front portion of the store,” Ruane said.

“The shopfront, starting from the sliding doors, which is a large area, was damaged.”
The store's bakery counter, a food aisle and various items of stock were also affected by the collision.
Despite the damage, the shop has remained open for business.
