'Waka Waka' turns 12!

In 2010, Shakira and Freshlyground brought the world together with the hit song, 'Waka Waka'.
In 2010, South Africa hosted the FIFA World Cup. The showpiece event was the 19th FIFA World Cup - the world championship for men's national association football teams.

It took place from 11 June to 11 July 2010.
International superstar Shakira and local band Freshlyground brought the world together with the official World Cup song. The song became a big hit around the globe.
