WATCH: South Africans shocked by "failed" Spur proposal
South Africans were horrified after a video of a proposal that went horribly wrong was shared online.
Many people wait for that special day when their partner goes down on one knee and asks them to spend forever together.
Of course, there is a lot of pressure on a proposal, and many people have opinions about the right and wrong ways to do it
For example, many believe that proposing in a public space in front of a large audience is never a good idea, and let’s be honest, there have been plenty of proposals-gone-wrong to back this up.

A recent TikTok video left South Africans with a lot of second-hand embarrassment after what they deemed a proposal gone wrong.
The video shows a man going down on one knee in a Spur restaurant, but instead of his partner jumping up in joy, she starts laughing and then proceeds to walk up and down, shaking her head at him.
South Africans quickly headed to the comment section to share their opinions on what they viewed as a proposal fiasco.
“But sometimes you just have to say yes and reject when you get home,” said one user.
“I think public proposals are a form of manipulation, making it harder for the person to reject you,” said another.

Perhaps her reaction in the first video was pure shock, or maybe even for a few TikTok views. Either way, it all ended well for the pair.
