How to land that perfect deal this Black Friday

Kriya's guide on how to land that perfect deal this Black Friday

Black Friday sales have really taken off this year and a number of South African retailers have started advertising their one day only specials, but the question is how do you make sure you land that ultimate deal.

The biggest sale of the year is fast approaching and as we gear up for the festive season getting those deals and saving a bit of money seems like a very good idea.

However with the sale comes a frenzy, of crazy shoppers, busy stores and possible chances of injury.

So how do you survive the madness and land the perfect deal?

With the Jacaranda FM guide to land the perfect deal this Black Friday, of course.

1. Do your research

Make a comprehensive list of what you plan to buy, research what those items usually sell for at full price and on sale, and figure out how much you want to spend. This will ensure maximum buying and saving power.

2. Plan your route

This can apply to both online and in store purchases. Make sure that is you are planning on braving the stores that you start at the most important and popular sale items and make your way around the stores.

The same will apply if you are shopping online, perhaps open all the browser tabs before the sale starts and then refresh the page when the sales go live.

3. Go digital

Save yourself the headache this year and avoid the stores if you can. Most of the retailers also do their sales online and on their apps with additional specials for just using their digital platforms. So why not just shop from the comfort of your home or office.

4. Get there early

If you are planning on braving the stores, I suggest rather getting there earlier and waiting inline. A lot of the stores are worried about the mad dash that happened last year so they will control the flow of people a lot more.

5. Don't buy want you don't need

With the sale frenzy in full force it is easy to get caught up in the madness. My theory if you don't need it, don't buy it. The December period is just around the corner and you don't want to over extend yourself too early.
