'Kellyoke' is a popular segment on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'.

In it, she covers well-known songs with the help of her house band, 'My Band Y'all'.

It's become an internet sensation and somewhat of a running joke that if Kelly Clarkson covers a musician's song, the original artist accepts defeat and will "never perform that song again".

Rolling Stone Magazine wrote: "There are some Clarkson covers that are arguably as good — if not better than — the originals."

Clarkson and her band put their own spin on the Kellyoke covers, making them not just unique but absolutely extraordinary.

For musicians, it's obviously an incredible honour to have their song chosen and performed by the talented host.

Almost the musical equivalent of a song and artist receiving a Michelin Star.

From 'Mr Brightside' by The Killers to Ariana Grande's '7 Rings', Clarkson has covered songs from a wide variety of genres and isn't scared to try something different.

But many covers focus on popular, trending, or iconic songs.

So, for a more niche, up-and-coming artist with a significantly smaller following, it means the world when an artist as famous as Kelly Clarkson performs your song on her viral television show.

Lyn Lapid, a 23-year-old Filipino American singer-songwriter, moved to Los Angeles from a small town.

At 16, her cover of 'Best Part' by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R. went viral in 2018, and her social media presence skyrocketed over the next two years.

Her original songs, 'Producer Man,' went viral on TikTok, and 'Cruise Control' was used in the Disney/Pixar film 'Inside Out 2'.

Lapid has a loyal following and has established herself as an artist who is here to stay.

Recently, she has accomplished something that very few musicians can claim.

Her song 'Coraline' had been Kelly Clarkson-ed/Kellyoke-fied.

Lapid learned about the cover when she saw the Kelly Clarkson show invite her to collaborate on an Instagram post.

She realised that this could only mean one thing and filmed her reaction as she watched Clarkson perform.

Watch her wholesome reaction below:

As you can see, the musicians behind the original songs are among Clarkson's biggest fans.

Lyn Lapid's original version of 'Coraline':
