Ed Sheeran takes on mega-muscled Marvel superhero in arm-wrestling match
The multi-talented musician kicked off his 2026 tour in an unconventional and slightly cheeky way.
Ed Sheeran is known for many things.
His amazing writing and lyrics, his chart-topping hits, his friendship with Taylor Swift, his tattoos and his beautiful, bright hair.

These are probably the first things that pop into your head when you mention Ed Sheeran.
What you might not consider is how fit the British singer is.

His vibe is not gymrat, fitness and protein powder-based, but pretty much the opposite.
Don't get us wrong, he's become more health-conscious over the years and looks a lot fitter than he did at the start of his career.

However, you wouldn't expect him to be up for an arm wrestle with a Marvel superhero actor.
Especially considering it is also the cast member who is known for working overtime to get a body so impressive that men are jealous and women stare in awe.

On Thursday, Feb. 26, Sheeran kicked off his 'Loop Tour' down under in Melbourne at the Marvel Stadium.
Funny enough, he hung out with a Marvel star, and the two celebs decided to challenge each other in an arm-wrestling match.

Sheeran and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth faced off, and Hemsworth posted an Instagram video showing the pair face off.
Many viewers were shocked to see Ed truly make it hard for Chris.

The arm-wrestling idea was actually inspired by a piece of artwork by comic book artist Wayne Nichols, seen below:

The artwork will be on display at the Marvel Stadium during Sheeran's performances.
In November 2025, ahead of Sheeran’s 2026 tour, he shared that he enjoys touring and has never viewed it as an “obligation.”

The Grammy-winner said he really enjoys his career, loves touring, and loves songwriting.
He also opened up about his wife, Cherry Seaborn and his daughters Lyra (5) and Jupiter (3).
Touring has gotten to a point now, because of where my career’s at, that it can fit around my family, and I can dictate what I do. If I want to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I can do that as well. But if that feels like too much, then I’ll just say, ‘I just want to play Saturdays.'
Sheeran explained that, at this stage in his career, when his family takes precedence, he can do it all and maintain a perfect balance.
