Former First Lady admits her children recently had a shocking realisation

Michelle Obama is a lot of things, but her favourite title is 'Mom'.
The Obama presidency and family are considered American national treasures.

Many United States citizens still look fondly on Barack Obama's presidency, and his wife, Michelle, has become a powerful symbol of women's empowerment.
Through her books, charity work, humanitarian efforts, and other endeavours, she has gained a significant following.

She's an accomplished author and has hosted many successful events and podcasts.
There have even been people jokingly or seriously nominating Mrs Obama to be "the next American president".

Michelle is not showing any signs of slowing down, and her latest podcast endeavour, 'IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson,' has also been thriving.
The Former First Lady also has many inspirational, motivational talks and public appearances under her belt.

Even though she is the wife of a former American president, she has carved out her own niche.
She always has knowledge, wisdom and sage advice to share.
In 2025, she appeared as a guest on comedian and actress Amy Poehler's hit podcast 'Good Hang with Amy'.

The two discussed everything from love languages to the perfect room temperature, as well as filming 'Parks and Rec' together.
One thing they also bonded over was motherhood.
While everyone in the world seems to know Michelle Obama, her family and every aspect of her life, her notoriety has not registered with her children.

Michelle and Barack have two daughters, Malia (26) and Sasha (24), and they have only recently come to the realisation that their mother might be more than just a wife.
During the interview, she shares that it took her kids quite a while to figure out why other people pay attention to what their mom has to say.

It's fair to say that it's not just the famous parents who have to deal with this.
