The house has stood the test of time, as it was built in 1688 as part of one of the first farms in the Western Cape.

It also places a firm benchmark for property pricing in Zwaanswyk.

The group states that the suburb's properties have always been in high demand, with owners and residents in the suburb settling in for the long haul.
Combine the dearth of available overall stock with the fact that more than 40% of current owners have been resident for more than 11 years, according to Lightstone, and it makes for a highly competitive market.
