Kate Middleton 'ready for the healing to begin' with Meghan Markle
It's no secret that the British Royal family has had its fair share of controversy in recent years, mainly since Prince Harry settled down with former actress Meghan Markle
In an interview with Tom Bradby in 2023, Prince Harry claimed that his brother, Prince William, and his sister-in-law, Princess Kate, never accepted his wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, from the "get-go" because she is a "divorced biracial actress".
Harry said that the Prince and Princess of Wales had never expected him to begin a relationship with "someone like Meghan who had a very successful career".
"There was a lot of stereotyping that was happening, that I was guilty of as well, in the beginning," he said.

"American actress, right, and that was playing out in the British press in the media at the time as well. Some of the things that my brother and sister-in-law - some of the way that they were acting or behaving - definitely felt to me as though, unfortunately, that stereotyping was causing a bit of a barrier to them really sort of, you know, introducing or welcoming her in."

"Well, American actress, divorced, biracial, there’s all different parts to that and what that can mean."
Harry added that his brother never tried to stop him from marrying Meghan Markle, but did air "some concerns" - suggesting it was going to be "really hard" for him.

In Prince Harry's book, 'Spare', the prince revealed more shocking information, and there has also been much more serious news coming to light in the last two years.
This includes both King Charles III and Princess Catherine sharing cancer diagnoses.

While the Royals are always in the news (and frequently featured in gossip columns and tabloids), it's challenging to know what truly goes on between the various family members and their relationships with one another.
According to Prince Harry, there has been some tension, but it's now been reported that the Princess of Wales has some New Year's Resolutions.

Star Magazine has stated that Kate Middleton is done with the "war" between the families and is looking to enter 2026 with a peaceful mind.
The Princess is reportedly planning on calling the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, ahead of the festive season with the hopes of putting their animosity to bed.

A source told the publication that, although the women have exchanged occasional pleasantries over the years, they don't consider each other friends.
There’s been no meaningful conversation. Kate wants peace in every area of her life. And if that’s going to happen within her own extended family, she’s accepted she needs to reach out and wave the white flag.
The Princess plans to make the call to show that the door to forgiveness is open.
Whether it works, we'll have to wait and see.
