The reality TV star and businesswoman was robbed of her jewellery at gunpoint while attending Paris Fashion Week in 2016.

Masked men dressed as police officers forced their way into her hotel room at the Hôtel de Pourtalès.

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashian' star was bound and gagged with zip ties and tape, and locked in the bathroom. The group of eight men stole jewellery worth more than $6 million (R97 million), including her $4 million ring.

Kardashian’s childhood friend and stylist Simone Harouche, who was downstairs during the robbery, is also being compensated.

Putting money aside and seeking only accountability and closure, the Skims founder and her stylist only requested 1 euro from the court.

Because the crime occurred in the French capital, the local court was legally responsible for handling the case and bringing closure to the star.

Kardashian and Harouche, in a shared statement told People magazine: “We are grateful to the French justice system for recognizing [sic] us as victims of the terrible events that took place in Paris in 2016. The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us. Today’s decision is not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition. We are thankful to the Court and everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal.”
