Since the ordeal, Kardashian has opened up more about the experience and the trauma she has had to deal with from that day.
She publicly spoke about the incident for the first time in a 2017 episode of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'.
They ask for money. I said I don't have any money. They dragged me out on to the hallway on top of the stairs. That's when I saw the gun clear, like clear as day. I was kind of looking at the gun, looking down back at the stairs. I was like; 'I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision. Am I going to run down the stairs and either be shot in the back? It makes me so upset to think about it. Either they're going to shoot me in the back, or if I make it and they don't, if the elevator does not open in time, or the stairs are locked, then like I'm f—ed. There's no way out.- Kim Kardashian
She told her sisters that she had posted a Snapchat where she said she was home alone, and the robbers would have known her bodyguard was out with her sister, Kourtney.

Almost a decade later, the trial of the 10 suspects, half of whom are alleged accomplices, has begun.
According to AFP, most of the stolen valuables were never recovered, including a diamond ring given to Kardashian by her then-husband, rapper Kanye West.

In May 2025, Kardashian was ready to "confront" her Paris attackers.
"She is committed to attending in person," French lawyers Leonor Hennerick and Jonathan Mattout told AFP, saying she would do so "with dignity and courage".
In the latest episode of 'The Kardashians', which aired on December 4, the show followed Kim as she prepared to testify in court.

The billionaire businesswoman says she's having a last fitting for her court appearance, and the prosecution has recommended that she not wear jewellery and tone it down.
She then continues by saying she actually wants to show up "in all diamonds", even though it might be deemed disrespectful by the court.

At the time of her court appearance, Kardashian's look was the talk of the town and jewellery expert Laura Taylor told PEOPLE:
This isn’t just another public appearance; it's the first time she has come face-to-face with the people who tied her up, held her at gunpoint, and stole millions worth of jewellery. She knew the cameras would be there, the images would be shared globally, and in typical Kim fashion, she made sure she was in control of how she was seen.- Laura Taylor
Ultimately, eight of the 10 accused defendants were found guilty.
