Latest iPhone update could be messing with your alarms

Unfortunately, an alarm is a necessary evil for those of us who can't rely solely on our body clock to wake us up in the morning.

If you’re still going old school, then you probably have nothing to worry about.

But if you're using your phone alarm, then this is for you.

People have been sharing their excitement about the latest iOS update, which features spam call avoidance and a new 'Liquid Glass' look.

However, no one seems to be aware of the updates to the alarms.

Hitting snooze on an iPhone can be tricky and makes a huge difference between being on time and being late.

Now, Apple has made another significant change to the snooze button design.

As part of the new iOS 26.1 update, the snooze button has changed from the previous ‘Stop’ button and is now a ‘Slide to stop’ mechanism.

If you want to snooze for a few more minutes, you still need to tap, but swipe across the screen to stop it completely.

This might seem like a simple change, but Apple users have been complaining about the Clock app design, saying it’s too easy to accidentally hit ‘Stop’ when you meant to hit snooze.

The new slide feature makes it easier to distinguish.

If you are not a fan of this change, there’s an easy way to change it.

The current software update is only available for iPhone 11 and later models, and the slide to stop feature is the default setting when you download the update.

Here’s how to change it back:

  • Go to Settings
  • Select Accessibility
  • Select Touch
  • Toggle on the option for Prefer Single-Touch Action

If you are also still on the fence about the ’Liquid Glass’ look, you can also adjust it to your liking:

  • Go to Settings
  • Select Display and Brightness
  • Select Liquid Glass and choose between Clear or Tinted.
