You might not have heard of Best Before yet, but this brand is ready to mix things up.
According to BusinessTech, Best Before was founded by Mark Gordon and Alain Soriano in 2017.

The company wanted to disrupt the SA food retail sector with its affordable products and has been doing just that.
The Best Before strategy involves selling short- and past-dated quality food and personal care products at highly discounted prices.

Don't be worried, the aisles aren't full of food and products that have gone bad.
From the start, their mission has been clear: to offer premium branded food and personal care products at unbeatable prices in a modern shopping environment.
Unlike traditional salvage outlets that sell damaged or shop-soiled stock, we focus on short-dated and past-dated products that are still high-quality and safe, giving shoppers access to big-name brands at a fraction of the cost.- Best Before

Best Before also negotiates favourable pricing with food producers, passing savings to customers.
The pilot Best Before store launched in Wendywood, Sandton, and found that there is a strong demand for its offerings.

Since then, they have expanded their partnership with many of SA’s largest food suppliers and opened stores in Woodmead, Edenvale, Fourways, Northcliff, Faerie Glen, Boksburg and Krugersdorp.
Best Before also introduced unique imported products, such as Mountain Dew, Oshee, Côte d’Or, Toblerone, Hershey’s, Bokomo, Caffelux, Willards, Koo, Robertsons, and Labello.
This marks another first for the South African market.

Their newest store opened in Centurion, continuing Best Before's ever-growing footprint.
BusinessTech reports that after visiting the Centurion branch, "Best Before's deals offer a discount of between 20% and 40% over Pick n Pay and Checkers."
