WATCH: Safari vehicle plunges into crocodile-infested river
Well, that's certainly not how you want your safari to come to an end...
Video footage of a safari vehicle filled with tourists plunging into a river is making the rounds on social media.
According to the Daily Mail, the vehicle was carrying Swiss tourists who were on safari in the Serengeti to witness the Great Migration.
Footage taken from another vehicle shows the safari vehicle slowly rolling towards the Mara River.
As the vehicle rolls towards the river over the bumpy ground, a woman can be seen falling out.
Gasps from tourists witnessing the incident can be heard, with one person saying, “She fell out,” as the vehicle continues moving forward before finally plunging into the river.
The incident reportedly happened on Sunday, 30 August, in the Kogatende area of the Serengeti National Park.
The Tanzania National Parks Authority confirmed the incident, saying that all four Swiss passengers who were still in the vehicle, as well as the driver, escaped unharmed.
“TANAPA takes this opportunity to remind all drivers, visitors and tour companies to strictly observe the laws, regulations, and established procedures governing the use of river crossings,” it said in a statement.
“All users are required to follow the instructions provided by crossing supervisors and to exercise the utmost caution to safeguard human life and property, while also minimising any disturbance to wildlife.”
